Alex Solomon

Alex Solomon

Alex Solomon is the CTO and Co-Founder of PagerDuty. He is a passionate advocate for growing the community of PagerDuty practitioners by cultivating and sharing best practices that advance real-time operations.

Alex started PagerDuty in 2009 as founding CEO. He led the company through the first several stages of growth, from inception, product-market fit, multiple rounds of fundraising, building out the core functions of the company, and expansion of the product vision. He has served as a member of the PagerDuty board of directors since 2010.

Prior to PagerDuty, Alex was a software engineer at Amazon, where he built and maintained large-scale systems to help Amazon’s supply chain run efficiently and reliably. Alex graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.S. in Software Engineering.

Daniel Afonso

Daniel Afonso (he/him)

Daniel Afonso is a Senior Developer Advocate at PagerDuty, SolidJS DX team member, Instructor at Egghead.io, and Author of State Management with React Query. Daniel has a full-stack background, having worked with different languages and frameworks on various projects from IoT to Fraud Detection. He is passionate about learning and teaching and has spoken at multiple conferences around the world about topics he loves. In his free time, when he’s not learning new technologies or writing about them, he’s probably reading comics or watching superhero movies and shows.

Dormain Drewitz

Dormain Drewitz (she/her)

Dormain Drewitz is Vice President of Product Marketing and Developer Relations at PagerDuty. Prior to PagerDuty, she worked at VMware Tanzu, Pivotal, and Riverbed Technologies. Before her career in product and solutions marketing, she spent over 5 years as a technology investment analyst, closely following enterprise infrastructure software companies and industry trends. Dormain holds a B. A. in History from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Julie Gunderson

Julie Gunderson (she/her)

Julie Gunderson is a Sr. Reliability Advocate at Gremlin, where she works to further the understanding of reliability and the adoption of Chaos Engineering principles and methodologies. Julie is actively involved in the DevOps, Reliability, and Chaos Engineering space and is passionate about helping individuals, teams, and organizations understand how to leverage best practices and develop amazing cultures. Julie is also a founding member of DevOpsDays Boise. When Julie isn’t working, she is most likely making jewelry out of circuit boards, or traipsing around the mountains in Idaho.

Kat Gaines

Kat Gaines (she/her/hers)

Kat is a developer advocate at PagerDuty. She enjoys talking and thinking about incident response, customer support, and automating the creation of a delightful end-user and employee experience. She previously ran Global Customer Support at PagerDuty, and as a result it’s hard to get her to stop talking about the potential career paths for tech support professionals. In her spare time, Kat is a mediocre plant parent and a slightly less mediocre pet parent to two rabbits, Lupin and Ginny.

Mandi Walls

Mandi Walls (she/her)

Mandi Walls is a DevOps Advocate at PagerDuty. For PagerDuty, she helps organizations along their IT Modernization journey. Prior to PagerDuty, she worked at Chef Software and AOL. She is an international speaker on DevOps topics and the author of the whitepaper “Building A DevOps Culture”, published by O’Reilly.

Miguel Lupi

Miguel Lupi

Miguel has a rich background in developer relations, community management, and marketing for platform engineering professionals, having held previous founder and leadership roles. For fun, Miguel can be found playing the latest RPGs, D&D campaigns, or TCGs, reading manga and comics, and engaging in various sports.

Quintessence Anx

Quintessence is a Developer/DevOps Advocate at PagerDuty, where she brings over a decade of experience breaking and fixing things in IT. At PagerDuty, she uses her cloud engineering background to focus on the cultural transformation, tooling, and best practices for DevOps. Outside of work, she mentors underrepresented groups to help them start sustainable careers in technology. She also has a cat and an aquarium with two maroon clown fish and a mantis shrimp, of The Oatmeal fame.

Scott McAllister is a Developer Advocate for PagerDuty. He has been building web applications in several industries for over a decade. Now he’s helping others learn about a wide range of software-related technologies. When he’s not coding, writing or speaking he enjoys long walks with his wife, skipping rocks with his kids, and is happy whenever Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders FC, Manchester City, St. Louis Cardinals, Seattle Mariners, Chicago Bulls, Seattle Storm, Seattle Seahawks, OL Reign FC, St. Louis Blues, Seattle Kraken, Barcelona, Fiorentina, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund or Mainz 05 can manage a win.

Sid Verma is a Developer Advocate at PagerDuty, where he helps developers optimize their workflows and implement scalable solutions. With a deep background in observability, DevOps, and enterprise open source technologies, Sid is passionate about empowering teams to innovate and improve their incident management processes. He’s also a tech enthusiast with experience in vector databases, security APIs, and more.

Tiago Barbosa

Tiago Barbosa (he/him)

Tiago Barbosa is a Developer Advocate for PagerDuty. With 13 years of experience in the tech industry, he has helped hundreds of companies of various sizes and industries on their journey to build resilient and scalable cloud applications while working for Microsoft and AWS. Before moving to PagerDuty Tiago ran the Cloud and Platform Engineering teams for Music Tribe. When he is not busy working or travelling, he is most certainly spending some good time with his family, playing music or surfing.

Xenda is a Community Program Manager with the PagerDuty DevRel team. Before PagerDuty, Xenda was a Community Manager at an AI translation company, worked in CRM and was also a producer and copywriter for a news website, TV and radio host in Brazil. “I’m here to help bring developer achievements into the spotlight and make PagerDuty Commons a space where folks can share, learn and… have a bit of fun!”.
